BLOG 24๐Ÿก September 2017 ๐ŸŒป

ย ๐Ÿก What a wet August that was ! Eventually we were able to finish painting outside house wall and also painted front wall, looking so much better, fresh & clean.

Previously was a white/grey colour I suppose to go with original black window frames so now having oak frames we liked the cream colour (parchment) for the walls. Just leaves two more walls to finish, hopefully before Winter !! ย

The garden patio area looking good, sleepers in to support the upper area, then shingled and more shingle on lower area, should be enough shingle !! That was fun (!) moving all that in buckets ! ย ย

We have lots of pots we are filling for patio area so buying a plant each time we’re out ! ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒฑ

Chickens are much bigger now, hopefully first eggs soon ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ”?

BLOG 48 ๐Ÿก Sept 2019 ๐Ÿ

๐Ÿก Outside painting this month, YES at last finishing remaining two walls of the house, has always looked finished from the front with side and front painted, sneaky !ย ๐Ÿ  ย ย Now finished at last, looks so much better & fresher.ย  Had to scrub the paint drips off the windowsills & windows, always say we will cover the windows with covering so it protects them BUT never happens as such a pain doing it but wasn’t too bad to clean, all done now !!ย

Next Job…โ€ฆโ€ฆ.finish that 4th bedroom  (1) Alcove to paint  (2) Skirting to add   (3) Carpet  (4) Curtains – bought a lovely set for ยฃ 7.50 but split them for the two windows.  They also have hooks rather than rings on the curtains so found some oak colour rings for ยฃ2.50 plus some more on eBay for ยฃ5.00 which should work.

Vegetable Plot is nearing its’ end !  Most of the vegetables grew well,  the tomatoes been moved to different part of the garden in their grow bags & pots so catch more sunshine to make them go red maybe !  They are a lovely size tomato but still green & stayed green, shame !  Wonder if I should grow the tomatoes in the little greenhouse next year ?

Last of the carrots ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ•
Spring Onions grew well ๐ŸŒฐ๐ŸŒฐ๐ŸŒฐ

Colyton Shop Space……We are having to store the new items we purchase as no room in the Shop at the moment, we use our dining room with the large table pushed to end of room and bought some more plastic boxes so all neatly tucked away. Sorting & wrapping the items into a box, label & price each item, add Box number to Stock list to keep a track on where everything is at the moment. We had thought of racking around the room and keeping items on the shelves which is fine too but the boxes keep it tidy & dust free ! All ready to go to the Shop…. grab a box or two, sorted !๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

BLOG 53 ๐Ÿก End April 2020 ๐Ÿก

๐Ÿก Week 6 of #CoronaVirus Lockdown๐Ÿก Well here we all are still staying at home, hard work but has to be done !! When reading this in a few months time when we hopefully have our lives back, it will be very strange to remind ourselves about how we coped ! ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿค”

Found this lovely large metal stable feeding bracket/ hanger at the Auction a while ago, loved it for under the window at front of house & for ยฃ 6.20 including fees at Auction it was a fantastic bargain๐Ÿ‘ Managed to get a liner which was exact fit for ยฃ12 online, so with the food shopping on our ‘one trip out’ to the Farm Shop, I put some bedding plants in my trolley, thought that was ok to do that as food shopping too ?๐Ÿก

Last Blog I mentioned that I would hopefully have my seeds planted but unfortunately my order still waits ‘fulfilled’ status & that will total a month waiting !๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒฐ Completely understand as they’ve been snowed under with orders, I’ll be on the packing list one day soon.๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒน๐Ÿก

Peas are growing ๐Ÿ‘

So this last weekend was glorious & that dreaded corner of the garden was to be properly attacked & cleared ! What a job…most done by Andy, very hard work but what a difference it has made, lovely & bright. Cannot decide at the moment what we will eventually use the area for, but we do need to sort the compost heap out next so decided will use a compost bin instead of throwing it in a big heap, so an ideal area for that.

Old chicken house/shed falling apart !
Well rotten !
Getting there….
Opened up area
the back of garden from roadside
Left with all this to get rid of…maybe a skip is needed ? ๐Ÿคฃ Think it’s a No….very expensive to hire !

Have been sorting out items to go on our EBAY Shop, as I mentioned before we stopped our shop area at Colyton to concentrate online with Ebay & selling ok at the moment, sort of glad we pulled out in January as customers unable to visit of course at the moment ๐Ÿ˜ฎ! Luckily we have lots of stock still to go on Ebay as no Auctions at the moment.

My ‘one walk’ earlier today, road empty ๐ŸŒป

Until next Blog…take care of yourselves

Andy started & finished a project over Easter weekend to build some decking in a very awkward space we have on the driveway & it looks great, added spotlights are a great feature.
